Can carbonated soda and soft drinks cause throat or stomach irritation?

Yes, when I was drinking like 5 Mt. Dews a day to get through college, I got horrible heartburn. Once I realized it was the Mt. Dew, I had to quit drinking it cold turkey (which wasn’t easy!) to save my poor stomach. Now I can drink it every once in a while and not have a problem.

So! Too much of anything is bad. Drinking pop every once in a while or even a couple every day shouldn’t cause problems for you, but more than that might be excessive.

Of course, if you’re going to drink pop regularly, I advise drinking diet, so you’re not consuming any extra calories. That’s if you’re an adult, of course. If you’re younger, you should probably stick to water and milk and juice, with regular pop just every once in a while, not diet. That’s just my own opinion of course!
