Do you like black or red licorice better?
I’ve never had black licorice, but have been told it taste great.
Is this true?
Is there a significant taste difference between the two?
What does it taste like?
The difference is that black licorice tastes like the licorice plant, whereas red licorice is just a bizarre concoction of artificial berry flavors. That said, not everybody likes black licorice because it’s a fairly unique (and strong) taste. If you’ve ever tasted anise (or fennel), it’s very similar to that.
Plus, like with any food, there is good black licorice and bad black licorice.
