Do father’s hand out cigars after their baby is born ?

My mom said that the father hands out cigars after the baby is born ?
Is that true because I was thinking of handing out bubble gum cigars to the men at the baby shower. Im throwing it for my sister and my brother-in-law.

That’s an old tradition, and it can certainly be fun to hand out bubble gum cigars at the shower. What a good idea!
